The third annual Gulf Coast Songwriter Shootout

At 7 p.m. Mondays, Sept. 12 through Oct. 24. The Hot Spot Music & Grub, 4780 Wharf Pkwy, Orange Beach, Ala. "The Shootout" is a songwriter competition that supports grass roots singer-songwriters who are looking to seize both their listener's hearts and the grand prize, valued at over $10,000. Every Monday night of the five week competition, 10 contestants will perform three of their original songs in front of a live audience. Local songwriters kick off the first hour at 7 p.m. and the competition begins at 8 p.m. There will be three winners selected each night of the competition, based on three systems of voting: crowd, artist and judges. Each night's winner will advance to the finale on Oct. 24, where award winning Celebrity Judges Anthony Crawford, Lynn Langham and Travis Meadows will select the overall contest winner. Blues on the Bay

The Blues Angel Music Blues on the Bay season finale has been rescheduled for Sunday at from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Community Maritime Park Hunter Amphitheater. The concert was cancelled Labor Day weekend due to inclement weather.

Pensacola's own Beatles tribute band, Not Quite Fab will be performing songs from popular Beatles movies. Plus they are bringing on some very special guests to co-host including Paul Stadden as Ed Sullivan and James DeStafney as Gene Simmons.
